WHEN MAGNITUDE DWELLS IN MY HEART

In the jungle of the commercial world, one often gets lost .   Staying on schedule, working on priorities demanding attention, skills and time, easily leads us to go home weary.

Chores at home get piled high and it fights the battle against running off to bed.  Sometimes there is  something that pops up which needs to be done with, no matter what.  You strive to be awake and do it wholeheartedly.

Mornings get me foggy and sometimes the mountain climbs to my appointment with my Creator get pushed back with a promise to spend it during the midday break.  Then, you know too well what happens next.  Distraction comes... and house-sits without a lot of pushing ...... on tiptoe.

If so immersed, she customarily sits for a longer period.  She comes packed with a "suitcase" full of gadgets.  She sends me into chaos.  The more I try to work out on priorities, the more I lag behind.  More chaos and in the mind too.  Peace elopes together with hope.

I think last week was so much like that.  Wandering in the maze of my own making, I strained for the still small voice. " I haven't been hearing you, Lord!"  I tried to call out.

In the muddle, I know He is there always.  His voice got entangled in the din of busyness, in the loud horns of the busy streets of hidden thoughts, in the argues and complaints of office mates,  with the bullies of the big boss, among the flurry of paper works.  Even the lures of that small picture tube on its stand, takes a lot of time away from the important.

I needed to seek my Lord.  I want His help to evict Mrs. Distraction and stab her with the sword of  The word of God.  "Off you scram from my home with your "bag of regrets" God is for me, nothing can come between me and my God!"

"I am so sorry, Lord.  I missed you!"

"I want to be where You are."

This week, I went back meekly, with bowed head and repentant heart.  Mindless of my corner, which has now gathered a small hill of wares, needing patient hands and time to stash away.  What's important is I'm here at the altar of my own heart.

I sought Him out amongst the growing weeds of unnecessary things.  They cramped the space for my Spirit.  His call to me got muffled and I barely heard Him.

Slowly, undetected, the weaver of lies and the caster of guilt, crept into my mind with whispers of  dread, frightening thoughts and hopelessness.

"Lord, I am here."

"Please come and get me!"

I ran straight into the strong arms of my Father, with sobs of sorrows outpouring.

Listening hard while saying my praises, I felt home and secure.

Thank you, my Father, for the knowledge that you are always where you are, unmoved.  And for bidding me back when I went farther away for my comfort.

Suddenly, I was ushered into an expanse.  Apart from the firm hold, it made me shudder.  The wideness and breadth of the space made my heart ache and my head to spin.  What is this, where am I?  I am being swallowed by it.  It was a black hole kind of, in my imagination.

Then I realized, there was only me in my Father's firm hold.  What is this He is showing me?  It was like I was inside my own gaping heart.  "Yes, my Father, I missed you too!"

Then I embraced it.  I saw the magnitude of my Creator.  I can never span His measure with my own small mind, my own small outlook, my limited sight.  His ways are so far from mine.  Higher than  Mt. Everest and deeper than the Pacific Ocean.  The expanse of the whole Universe, I could not begin to fathom.  With a word, they came to existence.  I was formed.  He is holding everything in its order and law.  He is holding me.

He will never leave me and He will never forsake.

Yes, you are My God, my awesome God!  Help me not to go about my own way.  Thank you, Lord!  Just a speck in the vastness of the universe, yet you know me and care for me.  You cannot be shaken, You will never change.  Amen in the Name of my Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.

He is reminding me these:

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”

Deuteronomy 31:6

Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”

Hebrews 13:6

So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”
.... or nothing can ever separate me from the Love of God, nothing, In the love of my Lord, Jesus Christ!  God is for me.

(Rom. 8:31, 8:38-39 paraphrased.)

HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD

The splendor of a King, clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice
All the earth rejoice

He wraps himself in Light, and darkness tries to hide

And trembles at His voice
Trembles at His voice

How great is our God, sing with me

How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God

Age to age He stands

And time is in His hands
Beginning and the end
Beginning and the end

The Godhead Three in One

Father Spirit Son
The Lion and the Lamb
The Lion and the Lamb

Name above all names

Worthy of our praise
My heart will sing
How great is our God

How great is our God, sing with me

How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God

  1. Amazing awe-inspiring post.

The response of my heart - this worship song:

"You are God alone - from before time began..."

  2. Thank you, Lidj.

I will look this song up.

Pardon, because music is not so home to me. I am not gifted with notes and a voice for singing.... but I love to hear them.

Our small church sticks often to the familiar and the hymnals.

    Thank you for your response.

  3. Lidj, is this the one?

    YOU ARE GOD ALONE
    Marvin Snapp

There's no question of your greatness
    Nor searching of your power
Oh the wonder of your glory
To your forty is but one hour
    Your knowledge is all incompassing
To your wisdom, there is no end
    For you alone are God
    You are God alone

    Your mercy is everlasting
    You truth is here always
You are He who was, and is, and is to come
Who is He that can number your days
You flood the sun to burn in space
And the night's moon borrows light from day
Oh, you alone are God (you're God, Elohim, you're everything I need)
    You are God alone

    Immortal, invisible
    The only wise God

  4. Or Maybe this is the right one:

    Phillips Craig And Dean Lyrics

" You Are God Alone "

    You are not a god
    Created by human hands
    You are not a god
    Dependant on any mortal man
    You are not a god
In need of anything we can give
By Your plan, that’s just the way it is

    [chorus]
    You are God alone
    From before time began
    You were on Your throne
    Your are God alone
    And right now
In the good times and bad
    You are on Your throne
    You are God alone

    You’re the only God
    Whose power none can contend
    You’re the only God
Whose name and praise will never end
    You’re the only God
Who’s worthy of everything we can give
    You are God
And that’s just the way it is

    [chorus]

    [bridge]
    Unchangeable
    Unshakable
    Unstoppable
    That’s what You are

    [bridge]

    [chorus]

  8. I really admire your writings. Vêry inspirational. Your post is very timely, coz i am in the same situation and my mind and my heart are not They supposed to be. Pardon my english. Nangangapa ako. Hi hi. You arr a blessing sister:)

  9. I love the song you mentioned and also the one that sister Lidia suggested. I feel His power everytime I sing those notes. So powerful...

The things of this world that often clash with what we are supposed to do for Him. They easily choke what was given to us. I am about to cook some breakfast and reminds me not to forget to turn over the bread so that both sides would be toasted perfectly. And not left the other side unturned...May we be not like that...Half-baked. Half-toasted.

That's one thing I'm always grateful for...is that our Lord of mercy and compassion always readily accepts our repentant hearts. Not just once. Not just twice...I always remind myself and my family, to always start and end the day with the Lord. When we commit everything to Him, we are able to avoid those bumps scattered in our life's path. We are able...only because of His grace. So glory be to God! May you have a wonderful weekend, drawing nearer always to our sweet Savior. God bless and protect you.

  10. I can see you expanding in your writing, Lolita... your imagery reminds me of Shelly's and i can tell you are absorbing her writing and pouring forth your own... God bless you and your times with the Lord! It is easy to fall away with tiredness and daily needs... but I'm so grateful he never leaves us. No one understands as He does...

Such a beautiful post shared in such authenticity. And we can all relate to the busy that crowds out the important, which is cultivating relationship with the one who knows us best. And the wonder and awe that come with sitting in His presence. Yes this!

Last call for regret and defeat

To finish the bottle full of empty dreams

Punch strong headed straight out of line

    Another excuse with no alibi

Hitching on the road of decline

With no name streets and no vital signs

I pissed away the best of me

And no one can help me help me

Misery's best friend can't be a dead end

A bag full of regrets and I'm coming clean

So I feel it especially the rejects

A bad habit don't forget it you better

    Count your last blessings

    And fill up the wagon

    Chases this fee

And now I'm running out of time

My hands are tied and nailed to the cross

I'm looking for all the composure I lost

I'm petulant with a bad attitude

A poster child vision of wasted youth

  14. I might Also have been influenced by this song.... although it is a non-ecclesiastical, I am not exempt from hearing it.

There was nothing say the day you left I just filled a suitcase full of regrets I hailed a taxi in the rain Looking for some place to ease the pain Pre-Chorus: Then like an answered prayer I turned around and found you there Chorus: You really where start (you really know where to start) Fixing a broken heart You really know what to do Your emotional tools Can cure any fool Whose dreams have fallen apart? Fixing a broken heart [ From: http://www.metrolyrics.com/fixing-a-broken-heart-lyrics-indecent-obsession.html ] I never could understand What you're going to through There must be a plan that led me to you Coz' all the heart just disappears Every moment you are near Pre-Chorus: Just like an answered prayer You make the loneliness easy to bear Repeat Chorus Bridge: Soon the rain will stop falling, baby So let's forget the past Coz here we are at last Repeat Chorus from The Mellow Pages [eriqq@mailexcite.com]

  15. Thank you, Joy.

Just go on, I was so much like that before. Pwede ka namang magtagalog din, if you like.

But our American friends don't laugh at the way we speak.... it is sad because it is our fellow-Filipinos who paradize the way we speak and write in English.

  16. Thank you, Pam.

Because of your prodding and Diane's, I am now shedding of the cloak of timidity. I am sailing in the seas of lovely phrases I may have saturated with.... both from yours and from Shelly's.

I am begging your pardon, as well as with Ms. Shelly's, for quoting and using words I have learned out of reading your posts.

Thank you for having the heart to let us be filled with your encouraging -----Apples of Gold.... and getting lots of insights to Jesus Redemption's Beauty.

Thank you also for saying that I am improving with the pen God is loaning to me. At times, they run racing in my mind.

God bless you, my dearest Pam.

  23. Thank you so much, Pam.

I am glad the comment I wrote was not actually lost but was only for moderation.

I usually type what comes pouring my head.... more like the creative writing drill.... when inspiration flows, one needs not worry about typos and grammar, only.... I mostly hit the enter or post comment, often without re-reading.

    I was worried I won't recapture what I penned.

Thanks, Pam, for everything and for your encouragement.

  24. Oh, Precious Lolita! My heart...

I've been missing my early morning times with my LORD. I haven't been sleeping well, and it seems finally in the early mornings I sleep, instead of getting up to meet my Beloved.

I rejoice in your time with Jesus. By you sharing it, it touched my soul deeply, causing the yearning of my heart to deepen.

I hope it will normalize soon-your sleeping time, I mean.

Anyway, God knows what our struggles are and if you find space any time that you can have your quiet time, it is OK. Especially if you are one of those who has no specific time, or stay-home worker.

Thanks that you could come by. And glad that you are reminded. But you don't have to if your sleeping hours has been like that.
